DUBAI MARINA
About DUBAI MARINA
Dubbed “Arabian Venice” due to its expansive gulf, Dubai Marina is a prestigious residential area in Dubai, renowned for its array of skyscrapers, hotels, and restaurants. Despite its compact size of just four square kilometers—making it one of the smallest districts in Dubai, second only to the two square kilometer Downtown Dubai—Dubai Marina stands as the most densely developed and populated area.
Situated on the western side of Dubai between Jebel Ali and Al Sufouh, Dubai Marina encompasses ten smaller districts, with Jumeirah Beach Residence being the most notable among them. This area was designed and developed by Emaar Properties, a major developer operating under the auspices of the government, known also for iconic projects like Downtown Dubai, The Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera, and the Dubai Fountain.
Encircling a man-made harbor that stretches up to three kilometers, Dubai Marina justifies its name as a “harbor for yachts.” Construction began in 2003 and is now nearing completion, with plans for it to become the largest artificial yacht harbor in the world, surpassing Marina del Rey in California, USA.
