About Madinat Jumeirah Living
Madinat Jumeirah, meaning ‘Jumeirah City’ in Arabic, is a sprawling luxury complex situated on the coastal region of Jumeirah, southwest of the iconic Burj Al-Arab hotel, Jumeirah Beach, and Wild Wadi Water Park. Spanning 40 hectares, this opulent area hosts three five-star hotels, two villa complexes, and the traditional Souk Madinat market, alongside over 50 restaurants and bars. Notable features include the Madinat Arena, an outdoor amphitheater, and the grand Madinat Theatre, which serves both as a banquet and conference hall. The complex also boasts 5 tennis courts, the Talise Spa, and a sports and wellness center with a climbing wall and beach access.
The development of the Madinat Jumeirah Complex, initiated by Jumeirah International, began in 2000, with the first hotel, Mina A’Salam, opening in 2003. The design incorporates a sand-colored palette to mirror the aesthetic of an ancient Arabian oasis town, complete with a 5-km-long water channel where visitors can enjoy rides on traditional abra boats. Designed as a pedestrian-friendly enclave, it offers a secluded, community atmosphere. Accessible by the number 81 bus or a quick 5-minute taxi ride from the Mall of the Emirates Metro station, Madinat Jumeirah is just 25 minutes from Dubai International Airport (DXB) and 40 minutes from Al Maktoum Airport (DWC).
